Back in 1986 , someone in Colnago's marketing department was obviously having some fun with parts they had lying around, when they stuck a pair of townie bars on their sublime Arabesque racer, and called it the Gentleman Sport model.

Just something in my head, as i've never ridden carbon I recently purchased this 80's (i think) colnago master bike. Strange thing about it is that the top tube says "master PIU", but it hasn't got the internal rear brake cable, so i was wondering if it could actually be a piu. Paint job seems legit, same color and all.

What is a Colnago Master Più. A Piu version of the frame featured the rear brake cable routed inside the top tube instead of on top of the top tube. Several other models were released in this style or could be custom ordered with this feature ie. Colnago Super Più etc.

Over the years, the Colnago Master proved to be a frame of undisputed quality, lightness and performance. It was also available in time trial and track versions (1984 and 1985), with a split diagonal tube in the Dual series and with offroad geometry on the first MTBs (1987). In 1994, the octagonal tube section was even used for the C-40 carbon.
